Department Summary The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Mississippi strives to advance a championship culture that develops, educates and empowers our student-athletes as tomorrow's leaders while providing a premier experience for the Ole Miss family. Role Summary Manages daily operations of events, including monitoring the budget and supervising event planning staff to ensure that operations run efficiently, economically, and in line with institutional and organizational policies and conference guidelines. Examples of Work Performed Manages the security of all athletic venues and facilities. Reviews overall work schedules related to athletic events. Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Communicates with business office to maintain a running balance of expenditures. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required. Establishes and executes day-to-day operational functions and goals of events to align with existing strategy. Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures. Assists in maintaining the budget, approves expenditures and coordinates resources and services. Establishes and sustains relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinates and makes recommendations in the bidding process and contractual services agreements.
