We are currently seeking a highly skilled and passionate Permanent Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This role is crucial in maintaining and improving the quality and safety of our food products. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring food safety and quality assurance protocols, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and fostering continuous improvement in all aspects of food safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of the FSQA team, fostering a culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of FSQA programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the investigation of customer complaints related to food safety and quality, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of FSQA programs into all aspects of the operation.
  • Provide training and coaching to staff on food safety and quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, adjusting FSQA programs as necessary to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
  • Manage and maintain documentation related to FSQA activities, including audit reports, corrective action reports, and training records.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety and quality assurance role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Safe Quality Food (SQF) principles and practices.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, including FDA, USDA, and local health department regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex food safety and quality assurance concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software.
  • Certification in Food Safety, HACCP, or a related field is a plus.
