Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: To observe the grounds and property of the company, ensure employee protection and safety. Document all security related reports and logs. Administer first aid.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Under the general supervision of Loss Prevention Supervisor, View video cameras and security panel in operation areas. Monitors all employees and visitors entering and exiting. Patrols grounds and buildings on foot. Checks all departments for safety regulation enforcement. Monitors fire, burglar alarms, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked; sounds alarm in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Directs traffic and enforces parking regulations in order to maintain orderly traffic movement. Issues badges for visitors and employees Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Informs and warns violators of rule infraction, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles.
- Documents all required reports. Reads and fills out daily logs and activities sheets. Completes any special reports such as first aid reports, vehicle accident reports, etc.
- Uses radio to maintain constant communication. Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel. Able to understand and follow safety procedures. Able to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Able to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Administers First Aid by treating simple cuts, administering CPR, and referring injured employees to appropriate medical facility.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: This position requires a thorough knowledge of the print and finishing industries, including familiarity with vendors and suppliers. This position also performs other projects for the company as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear and sit. This job also requires close vision at 20 inches or less. Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 ft. or more), Color Vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors), Perpipheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust eyes to bring an object into focus). MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of experience in a loss prevention role preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- Drivers License.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Strong knowledge of access control system, alarm systems and CCTV equipment
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Great verbal and written communication skills
Environment and Scheduling:
- Work is performed in an administrative office setting and warehouse.
- Must be flexible and available to work additional hours when necessary.
