Base pay range $55.00/hr - $65.00/hr Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure backend services using Node.js, Express, and related frameworks. Design and implement RESTful & GraphQL APIs to support front-end applications and third-party integrations. Optimize performance by improving database queries, API response times, and caching strategies. Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end engineers, DevOps, and product teams to define API specifications and integration points. Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT, OAuth, or other security best practices. Ensure code quality through automated testing (unit, integration, and functional tests). Work with cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deployments, monitoring, and scaling infrastructure. Follow Agile development methodologies and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Requirements 3+ years of experience in backend development with Node.js and related frameworks (Express.js, NestJS, or Koa). Strong experience in building RESTful and GraphQL APIs and integrating with external services. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Understanding of authentication & security best practices (OAuth, JWT, API security). Proficiency in databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or DynamoDB. Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests using Jest, Mocha, or Chai. Experience working with messaging queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS is a plus. Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, Vue, Angular) is a plus but not required.
