Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Online Teaching Assistant (TA) to support our Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) for the "Certified Professional Biller Training" course. As a TA, you will play an essential role in mentoring and guiding students through their learning journey, ensuring they achieve their course objectives and feel supported throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one mentoring and guidance to students, ensuring they understand and meet the course objectives.
Assist students in navigating and utilizing the prescribed course materials.
Observe and assess student performance through assignments, practical exercises, quizzes, and exams, providing timely feedback on their progress.
Use the learning management system (LMS) to access course materials and communicate with students.
Participate in live virtual sessions, assisting the instructor and engaging with students during these sessions.
Offer support through various teaching styles, helping students connect course concepts to real-world applications.
Be available for student consultations during office hours or through scheduled appointments, via our virtual platform, phone, or email.
Attend orientation sessions to familiarize yourself with policies, procedures, and the learning management system.
Respond to students' questions within 48 hours of receiving them.
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Biller (CPB).
Prior experience teaching or training adult learners is highly preferred, especially in corporate or online environments.
2-3 years of experience in production coding or auditing.
Prior experience in online teaching or hybrid teaching formats is desirable.
Skills and Knowledge:
Current and up-to-date knowledge of relevant disciplines within medical coding and billing.
Proven ability to teach and mentor adult learners effectively.
Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and student success.
Proficiency in using technology for teaching and communication.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues.
Familiarity with fully online or hybrid teaching environments is preferred.
