Job Description

Salary Range

$75,000 to $131,000 YR

General Responsibilities

Assist in developing technical specifications for procurement packages related to track and structures, including detailed specifications for procurement scopes of work

Background and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, the Sciences, Communications, Technology, or a related field;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in the preparation and writing of technical documents;
  • Proficient in managing technical documentation using information management systems.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, Metro safety rules, standard operating procedures, maintenance protocols, and related procedures;
  • Experienced in complex track engineering and track maintenance technical writing, including procedures, specifications, and material standards, with the ability to create process flowcharts;
  • Strong communicator, able to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible language for a diverse range of trades;
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools required for creating and maintaining technical documentation;
  • Experience using publishing software and markup or web-based languages for document creation and management;
  • Ability to interpret various types of instructions, including written, oral, diagrammatic, or checklist formats;
  • Skilled in studying drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and outline technology, operating procedures, and production sequences;
  • Capable of understanding and translating technical engineering instructions, equipment standards, regulatory requirements, test data/results, and other complex technical information into clear, written documents for maintenance and/or procurement instructions.
  • Strong ability to set and adhere to schedules while effectively managing projects and tasks; and
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing.

Full-time(hybrid) at least 3 days onsite and two days remote
